A cricketing career now channelled into building yours.

Anand Shelar is the Managing Director and Head Coach of the High-Performance Centre for Cricket (HPCC) in Barshi, Maharashtra — an academy he built to turn rural cricketing talent into state, national and international-standard players. He played for the Solapur District Cricket Association in Maharashtra Cricket Association leagues for five years before moving into coaching.

In 2025, he was appointed Head Coach of the West Indies Masters team in the International Masters League (IML) T20, leading a squad featuring Brian Lara, Chris Gayle and Tino Best — one of the few Indian coaches to lead a team of that calibre. His coaching résumé also includes assistant coaching roles with West Indies Legends (Road Safety World Series, 2021) and South Africa Legends (2022).

About the Coach

Anand Shelar is a Level-3 Cricket Coach and Managing Director and Head Coach of the High-Performance Centre for Cricket (HPCC) in Barshi, Maharashtra.

Anand built the academy from the ground up to turn rural cricketing talent into state, national and international-standard players.

Produced players Nadeem Shaikh (Mumbai & Maharashtra Ranji trophy probables) played Maharashtra Premier league from Raigad Royals, Corporate Trophy, DY Patil tournament, Net Bowler to Rajasthan Royals. Sandesh Gade, Captain of U16 Solapur District Cricket association, got selected to the super league for extraordinary performance. Vihaan Yevankar, Captain of U14 Solapur District Cricket association.

Before coaching, Anand spent five years playing for the Solapur District Cricket Association in Maharashtra Cricket Association leagues, leading sides such as Sahara Warriors and MaharshiAlions in the Solapur District Premier League.

He captained high-performance teams to the Umar Khalifa Trophy title and appearances in the Rohit Pawar Trophy and Shahid Bhagat Singh Trophy in Aurangabad.

In 2025, he was named Head Coach of the West Indies Masters team for the International Masters League, leading a squad featuring Brian Lara, Chris Gayle and Tino Best.

He has also served as Assistant Coach for West Indies Legends, South Africa Legends, Achievers Cricket Academy in Mumbai and the Karnataka Institute of Cricket in Bangalore.

Alongside coaching, Anand has served as Liaison Officer for the Maharashtra Cricket Association’s U-19 team and as Head Coach of the Solapur District Cricket Association’s senior men’s team.

Mission

To take players from grassroots beginnings to international-standard performance through structured, technically sound coaching — built on the same fundamentals used at franchise and national level. Building India’s 2nd biggest cricket Academy with 30 Nets in Barshi for developing the cricket on a massive scale.
